Surprise Marriage Proposal with Shaylee and Abby in Julian, California

I had the honor and privilege of photographing Shaylee’s incredibly beautiful and thoughtful marriage proposal to Abby. Their friends and family were there to oversee the set up and celebrate with the happy couple. Shaylee guided a blindfolded Abby down the hill to the backyard where the words “MARRY ME” were spelled out on the train tracks. The moment Abby pulled down her blindfold, teared up, and laid her head on Shaylee’s shoulder, my heart melted. They walked down a red carpet where Shaylee got on one knee and asked a very important question. Abby happily said yes as Shaylee slipped the beautiful engagement ring on her finger.
Applause from friends and family erupted from the balcony above. Champagne was popped and then it was time to steal the newly engaged couple away to take some fun, romantic portraits! They could not keep their eyes off of each other and were a blast to photograph. We soaked up the rest of golden hour and headed back to the house to celebrate with loved ones and treat Abby to another surprise.
The final touch was having the bedroom decorated with a few engagement signs, rose petals, and candles. Shaylee led her fiancé down the hall to the dimly lit bedroom and Abby was blown away. Without hesitation, they shared a kiss and Abby tackled Shaylee onto the bed. Everything was kept PG though!
