Sunrise Senior Portrait Session at Chautauqua Park with Erin and Emma in Boulder, Colorado

Chug some coffee and let’s do this!

Let me take you back to 2017 when my Auntie Annie married Jeff. On this day, Jeff and his three girls officially joined our family. Emma is the oldest, Erin is the middle child, and Kate is the baby. While I met Jeff, Emma, Erin, and Kate later in life, I feel like I’ve known them since day one. Time flew by and in the blink of an eye, Emma entered her last year of high school. She asked me to take her senior portraits and of course I was ecstatic. Fast forward a year - Emma is starting college at the University of Colorado at Boulder and Erin is now a senior in high school.

Both Emma and Erin opted for sunrise shoots which is honestly a-ok with me because it is PRIME lighting. Erin was at Emma’s shoot for support and Emma did the same for Erin. We all arrived at Chautauqua Park a little bit before the sun so we decided to head to Starbucks for a caffeine jolt first. We chugged our coffees, stuffed some pastries in our faces, and starting making some magic.

Erin is truly one of the most adorable, hilarious, kind, and intelligent human beings I’ve ever known. She has the most contagious smile and the BEST laugh. Hearing it is an instant serotonin boost. We started the session working with this railing along the front path of the park (it was higher than it looks). Soon enough, the sun rose and we got that golden light. This light smooths the skin and creates a nice glow, makes the eyes pop, and adds additional contrast. The beauty of Erin and Chautauqua are unmatched and no one can convince me otherwise.

Towards the end of our session, Emma joined her sister in front of the camera. We got some cheesing photos for the parents and then decided a piggyback ride would be a good idea! It was, right Emma?

I’m incredibly proud of this gallery and beyond honored that I was able to capture both Emma and Erin’s senior portraits. Now that I moved away, these moments have become that much more special. I’ve known these girls for a long time and all three of them are the most beautiful humans inside and out and I am so lucky to be able to call them family.

Two down, one to go! I’m looking at you Kate.
