Golden Hour Couples Session at Sunset Cliffs in San Diego, California
Falling more in love every day.
I had the pleasure of photographing Andria and Lake at Sunset Cliffs in San Diego, California. We shot until the sun went down and it was one of my favorite shoots to date. They liked the idea of a beach shoot but didn’t want to get wet. Andria saw other couples shoots I had done at Sunset Cliffs and liked the ocean views with the texture of the cliffs. It was the best of both worlds! Also, since Andria was visiting and not super familiar with the area, it was a no-brainer to show her this San Diego hotspot!
Andria and Lake have known each other since eighth grade but began dating their senior year of high school. When they graduated, Lake joined the Navy and they began maintaining a long distance relationship. In 2020, Lake was deployed and they were not able to see each other for eight months. Dating long distance is such a challenge but these two are making it work and truly makes their time together that much more special. I couldn’t help but smile the whole time behind the camera and while editing their gallery. Gosh I sure do love my job.
My favorite part of our shoot was when I directed Lake to hug Andria from behind and whisper his grocery list in her ear seductively. Lake went with “chimichanga” and that got all three of us laughing. I swear I saw them fall a little more in love at that moment. I’m so glad I could capture these memories for them to look back on and relive, especially since they only see each other 3-5 times per year. Until next time xx
