Marriage Proposal at Coronado Beach in San Diego, California
Shoot your shot babe.
Three years ago, a girl slid into a guy’s DMs and the rest is history. Josephine and Drew were visiting San Diego for what seemed like any other vacation together. Little did Josephine know, Drew had been planning something monumental.
Most of the time, couples discuss a proposal and the idea of marriage before getting down on one knee so it can be tricky plotting the perfect surprise. To throw Josephine off the scent, Drew planned a few teasers the day before. So sneaky mwahaha.
The next day came and the sun was on its way down. We coordinated a time and place to meet on the beach outside the Hotel del Coronado. After Drew and Josephine finished up dinner and drinks, Josephine went to the restroom and Drew accidentally sent a text to her that was meant for me! Turns out, Josephine thought it was another one of Drew’s jokes. Phew!
They began strolling down the beach hand and hand. My heart was beating so hard as I watched for the signal. I can’t even imagine how hard Drew’s was beating! Down on one knee he went and out came the word “yes.” Drew offered his bride-to-be her mother’s stunningly beautiful ring that Josephine used to wear around the house as a child. I can say without a doubt that these were two of the biggest smiles I have ever seen.
I feel beyond blessed to be chosen to capture such awesome moments in people’s lives. Thank you for trusting me as your photographer babe (inside joke). I am so glad I had the chance to meet you and Josephine.

Client Review
“I hired Mallory to be a hidden photographer and capture my surprise proposal. At the time, I had no idea that I was making the best decision I could have possibly made in setting up my proposal. Mallory went above and beyond the role of “hidden photographer” and did so much more for us. Being from out of town, I knew very little about San Diego. Over a quick phone call, Mallory suggested several great locations and helped me choose the best spot for myself and my (now) fiancé to get engaged. She even looked at restaurant menus and gave a great recommendation on where we should eat before the proposal!
On the day of the proposal, Mallory was extremely accommodating and flexible at handling the small hiccups that came our way (dinner ran late, I decided to do a last minute change of backdrop for the proposal, etc.). She captured the moment beautifully. She also did a 20 minute photo shoot on the beach afterwards. Neither my fiancé or I had ever done a photo shoot before, but Mallory was great at making us feel relaxed. She sent us the edited photos in less than a week and they turned out amazing - my fiancé cried when she saw them. We love showing friends and family the album and will truly cherish these for the rest of our lives.
Throughout the whole process, Mallory was one of the most kind hearted, helpful, and genuine people I’ve ever met. She is a wonderful person, great at her job, and very easy to work with. I genuinely cannot recommend her services enough. Thank you Mallory for everything!”
