Intimate Waterfront Courthouse Wedding with Judith and Mitch in Downtown San Diego

Intimate Waterfront Courthouse Wedding in Downtown San Diego, California (Southern California Elopement Photographer)

In the heart of sunny San Diego at the waterfront courthouse, we find ourselves in the midst of a beautiful love story. As a San Diego elopement and couples photographer, I was honored to capture the courthouse elopement of Judith and Mitch. Their journey began on Hinge and blossomed into an extraordinary love story. They quickly fell head over heels for each other, met each other’s families, moved into a shared apartment, and merged their two lives into one.

Judith and I first met at a Friendsgiving celebration hosted by a mutual friend in November of 2021. An instant connection was forged and we became fast friends. Judith had recently relocated to San Diego from Spain. She had initially came to California on a vacation and decided to stay! We spoke about her visa and I was heartbroken to know that my friend had an expiration date before having to return to Spain. I remember her saying, “I only want to get married for love, not for a green card. I wasn’t even supposed to be here this long and if I am meant to stay, it will work out.” Two years later, Judith married one of the greatest guys in the world and I had the honor of capturing the day.

Mitch's parents, brother, and sister-in-law were in attendance as well as Judith's sister and brother-in-law who flew in from Pittsburgh. The excitement from everyone was overwhelming and the feeling of love was palpable. Judith and Mitch are truly two of the kindest, loveliest people I’ve ever known and I can’t imagine a better match. They both deserve all the care and love in the world and they found it.

For me, as their photographer, this elopement marked a full circle moment. From that initial meeting at Friendsgiving to capturing Judith's elopement, it was a memory I will cherish forever. As a couples photographer and a close friend, I'm so grateful to have played a role in capturing their special day for them and their loved ones to look back on for years to come. Their love story is proof that what is meant for you will not miss you. Life has a way of working itself out - it’s been a magical journey to witness.
