Meet Karen Thrall, an executive coach, corporate trainer, business consultant, and author! She does it all! She is coming out with a new book and needed updated portraits for the book jacket and to represent her brand on the web.
Being in front of the camera is typically nerve-wracking for her (like myself and many others), but once we started shooting, all of that melted away! We laughed, got to know each other, and created some killer portraits. Her partner Corey was also there for support, to play DJ, and help me rearrange some furniture - what a guy.
So what do I do to ease nerves and create a fun and comfortable experience? Glad you asked. Above all else, I bring positive energy, a big smile, and knowledge. The build up before a photo session is always more anxiety-inducing than the actual shoot. Karen along with many others will back me up on that! I assure you that once we start moving around and get those creative juices flowing, it is empowering and freeing! The time will fly by and you’ll want to keep shooting guaranteed. The more relaxed and vulnerable you are, the more authentic your portraits will be.
