To the mountains we go…
Meet Kaylee. She is not only an incredible graphic designer and entrepreneur, but also one of my best friends in the world. Kaylee now resides in Victor, Idaho and I was due for a visit. While I was there, we set up a mini branding headshot day and Kayls had the first time slot. Kaylee is the founder of Kindling Design Co. and I have had the privilege to watch her and her business grow over the years. She works primarily in the outdoor space and with brands that also appreciate nature. We wanted to showcase her adventurous spirit and laidback, fun-loving self in her branding imagery by documenting candids rather than traditional, posed headshots.
The beauty of candid photography lies in its ability to unveil the true essence of a person. To bring this vision to life, I photographed Kaylee as she set up our campsite with her dog Bali by her side and glass of wine in hand. The breathtaking backdrop of the Teton Valley served as the perfect canvas to showcase her connection with the great outdoors. The smiles and comfort being her truest self made her headshots truly unique and personal.
I love working with brands so much because raw, genuine portraits have the power to connect entrepreneurs with their clients on a deeper level. For someone in a creative field like Kaylee, it is crucial to show up authentically for your clients to build trust that is necessary when creating a safe space to share ideas and form a partnership. Our businesses mean the world to us - we nurtured them, built them from the ground up. As a business owner herself, Kaylee knows how important it is for her clients to trust her wholeheartedly with their brands; therefore, focusing on candids and authenticity felt like the right move to make.
