Branding Portraits for Kindling Design Co. in Bozeman, Montana

Meet Kaylee Litle. She is the founder of Kindling Design Co. and one of my favorite people in the universe and I will always remember the moment I met her. Once upon a time, I got a job at a gelato shop in Boulder, Colorado. During my second shift, this girl comes in with a massive burrito, sits down at a table, and starts chowing down. I looked at my coworker and wondered what is the protocol in this kind of situation?! She said, “Don’t worry, she works here.” I knew that girl inhaling an Illegal Pete’s burrito was going to be my friend.
We clicked immediately. I looked up to Kaylee for her kindness, sense of adventure, and hard-working mentality. I witnessed the launch of Kindling Design Co. and it amazes me (but without surprise) how far Kaylee has taken her business. What started as a side hustle is now a full-time career. Kaylee and Paige, her assistant, work so hard to build a community and create strong graphics and websites for outdoor-minded brands.
I recently visited Kaylee in Bozeman, Montana where she was temporarily staying while constructing her new home in the Tetons. My trip ended up being for both business and pleasure. While there, Kaylee hired me to take branding portraits for her! Brand imagery is so important when it comes to standing out from the crowd, attracting your ideal client, and authentically representing you and your business. For Kaylee, Bozeman is her hometown and holds a special place in her heart so going to the heart of Bozeman only seemed appropriate. We wanted to focus on her goofy, laid back personality; her love for hats, beer, and the outdoors; and what her clients can expect when working with her. Kaylee creates a welcoming, casual, and creative space to exchange ideas and get shit done.
I appreciate this human so much. Not only has she been so supportive during my freelance journey, but she has always been a beautiful, reliable, and loving friend to me. I have no doubt that we will be in each other’s lives forever and that is a wonderful feeling that I will never take for granted. It was an honor to capture these portraits and I can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next.
FUN FACT: Kaylee designed my logo! In my unbiased opinion, she is the greatest graphic designer to ever walk the planet. I 1000% recommend her.
